"The classes were small, which..."
The classes were small, which I actually liked. You’re not just sitting in a huge room feeling invisible. A few of my teachers knew my name, checked in, that kind of thing. That part felt good. But advising... yeah, it really depended on who you got. Sometimes helpful, sometimes like I was figuring things out on my own. So overall, some solid moments, but the support wasn’t always consistent.

"Decent programs, but it really depends"
Averett University has some solid programs, and there are definitely professors who really care and try to help. I had a few classes that felt useful and worth it, but then some others were basic or just not organized that well. Advising was kind of the same for me, kind of hit or miss. It’s not a bad school, not at all, but the experience really seems to depend on what program you’re in and which teachers you end up with.

"Support depended on who you got"
Some of the faculty definitely knew their stuff, but the support overall felt hit or miss. And it’s not even about expecting everyone to have every answer right away, it just felt like there wasn’t much consistency when you actually needed help.

"Online classes felt disorganized"
The online classes were frustrating. The platform was confusing at times and would run slow, which made it hard to stay focused. The teachers were fine for the most part, but whenever I needed help, it felt like I kept getting passed around and nobody really took ownership of the issue. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but it definitely could’ve been handled a lot better.

"Sports and clubs left me kind of confused"
I was disappointed with the athletics side at averett. It felt like some teams got way more attention than others, and if you weren’t part of that main group, you were just sort of overlooked. I kept wondering if I was missing something or if that was just how it was.
The clubs and extracurriculars didn’t really clear things up either. A lot of them seemed inactive, or the organization was kind of all over the place. Sometimes I’d hear about an event after it already happened, and other times the events that were advertised didn’t feel like much was going on.
Maybe some people find their place and enjoy it, but it didn’t really work out that way for me. I expected campus life to feel more active and welcoming, so I left feeling confused and let down by the whole experience.

"I expected a lot more when it..."
I expected a lot more when it came to career prep. For some reason, I thought there would be more actual guidance or support, but it felt minimal. Once classes were over, I mostly felt like I was left to figure everything out on my own.

"The financial aid process didn’t feel fair"
I really wanted to make Averett University work, but the financial aid situation was frustrating. The cost was still way too high even after aid, and the numbers seemed to keep changing. I had a hard time getting clear answers, which didn’t feel right when you’re trying to make such a big financial decision. In the end, it just wasn’t affordable for me, and I wish the process had been more transparent.

"Admissions left me hanging"
Trying to get straight answers from admissions was exhausting. I emailed, called, waited around, then got passed from one person to another like nobody really knew what was going on. The deadlines were confusing too, and I kept wondering if I was missing something obvious, or if someone was supposed to explain it and just never did. Maybe other people had a smoother time with Averett University, I don’t know, but my experience was frustrating

"Wasn’t really my kind of campus"
I didn’t really like the feel of the campus. It felt kinda old and loud, and not very welcoming to me. Just wasn’t the vibe I was hoping for.

"The housing felt cramped, and..."
The housing felt cramped, and a lot of the campus facilities looked like they’d seen better days 😕. Repairs also seemed to take a while, which made things a little frustrating.

"Just didn’t feel supported when it mattered"
When I reached out to student support, I got the gut feeling quickly that they weren’t really going to be much help. The responses felt minimal, and when I actually needed guidance, I was kind of left figuring things out on my own.
